This was written before the merger and Jolt has since gone missing, so this can be seen as another fiction of Ophistha's imagination!

Small islands lay before the coast of the New Holt.
They serve as a natural protection for the land behind them. Some large, some small, some with trees and other vegitation and others barren.
You never know what you will find on one of the islands......

On one of these small island a strange creature dwells.
She had arrived here a long time ago after roaming the world in search for her home.
One day she came here for rest and never left. Time has effected her memory, being alone even more so. She had lost her marbles in more then one way, will she ever be whole again?
"Yes, yes! Floaties are coming, with the red wet on them. They shall come here just before the storm! Ophistha knows, Ophistha feels storm coming. Fishy feel storm coming? Fishy no say much... fishy sick?" She signed, fishy was not well... and she toshed it back in the ocean. "Whoooooo, fishy fly, like flyers in the sky.... oh... fishy no can fly.... ah well... is fishy! Stupid fishy didn't know, fishy do swim swim in the water."
Ophistha looked at the fish, it wasn't dead, but it took time to come to it's senses again. "Bye bye fishy, catch you later again!"
She giggled as she slid over the rocks, her tentacles needed to get wet again, so she splashed in the water and laughed out loud. "Making droplets fly!" This was how she filled her day, swimming in the ocean catching fish, searching for trinkets to make nice things. Waiting for something, but what that was she didn't know...

Jolt awoke with a start, her dreams filled with burning flames scouring the grass lands. her fault. She brought a hand to her head, and winced at the pain in her skin. She took a closer look and her skin was pink as if burned. Had her dream done this? Was her guilt punishing her? Had her magic done this? She was uncertain. She looked up and the water had receded down the beach a long ways. The lowering daystar glinting off the water partially blinding her. Then she realized it was the daystar's light that had done this to her skin, and that light reflecting off the water. She had been stupid to have fallen asleep where she did. She got up, looked for her things and saw them still where she had left them.
She had to pack everything away because she couldn't wear it against her burned skin. Nudity wasn't taboo among her people, only that clothing offered much protection against the changing environment they found themselves living in.
With the tide low, she walked out into the now revealed shallows, There were pools of water here and there, rocks covered in sea plants. As she walked and looked at all these new things, she saw one plant that seemed to have a gelatinous slime covering it. She poked it with her staff, it seemed rubbery but yielding. She knelt over it and touched it with her hand. It was firm and it also seemed squishy. Some of the goo stuck to her fingers and she absentmindedly wiped it off on her leg. It burned on her tender skin at first, then the burn faded. The pain was gone!
She took some more of the ooze and rubbed it on the burns on her arm, and the pain subsided too. She grinned! She got more and spread it everywhere she was burned pink. She was careful around her face not wanting to get any in her eyes, nose, or mouth. Relief finally. She looked closely at the plant to memorize its particular look and where it grew underwater so she could find it again if needed for future burns.
The water continued to retreat before her and she walked down from the high tide mark. The nearest island now had an exposed piece of land connecting it to the mainland. She decided to head that way. She could return the next day back to the main land at the next low tide. She saw a few deer traveling between the mainland and the island along this causeway. That boded well for prey on the island. She was eager to get a good hunt in. She put her pack on and took off along the causeway to the island, pain gone and her spirits brighter.

Taking a good part of the day to cross the causeway, Jolt eventually neared the shore of the island. Not many sandy beaches here, more rocky shoreline though not many were steep sheer cliffs. Looking behind her she could see that the tides had turned and were now returning to cover what she had crossed. Turning back to face ahead of hershe saw the land rise up gently, and it was lush and thick with green growth. She'd not seen the deer return across the land bridge so must still be here somewhere. First thing she needed to do was find fresh water, though her skins were full she could not rely upon them forever.
She headed off north along the shore trying to find any animal paths into the interior, or a stream that she could follow back to its source. She saw many signs of wildlife, tracks of birds, small mammals, arthopods, Coming from the forest were bird calls, and other animal calls she didn't recognize. Those she did recognize she had heard in the swampy forest she had recently escaped from.
Then she came across some odd tracks she couldn't interpret. They looked like many snakes had wrestled their way across the sand from water's edge and into the brush. She unslung her bow from her shoulder and partial nocked an arrow in it. She peered at the nearby vegetation and listened.
Something was off, all she heard were the waves against the rocky shore, but all animal sounds had ceased. Was that due to her presence? she didn't think so because they had been making noises a little while before. She continued on cautiously.
