Instead of the pain and death Stillwater expected she heard the creature scream and retreat, crashing through the bushes away from her. Before she could even open her eyes she felt another elf jump down beside her.
She wanted to go after it, making sure it would die!
But..... Stillwater needed help...
ShineBright check, "Are you alright?", the wounds didn't look too severe, she would live, but she needed a Healer, as did River, poor wolf.
"What were you thinking!? Going after it alone. Haven't we lost too many already? Sunstrider, Kip .... Thundercloud! Fang!" She shouted at her, she had been so worried and blamed the loss on herself. She wanted the Hunt and now.....
"Didn't I say up the trees? We are a tribe now, we can't just go as we please, not when on a grouphunt! What if you had been killed too?"
She threw her hands in the air and kneeled next to her in the water, before calming down.
She placed her hands on Stillwater's shoulders. "I couldn't bare to loose another tribemember. I am sorry I shouted, I... I am glad you are still in one piece, but you need a Healer."
[...]
**Again, Stillwater, I am sorry for shouting, I hope you can forgive me.** She looked at her one more time before turning back to get Sunstrider and the others....
Stillwater winced as ShineBright yelled at her. Her head and ears were still aching but the guilt and knowledge that the elder was right was much worse.
"I'm fine, I'm fine, River's the one who's hurt. I'm sorry, I just wanted River to be safe with the others, and to make sure they were all right. I've already lost almost all of my tribe, I don't..."
She broke off when Shinebright knelt down and grasped her shoulders, feeling safer at the touch. The creature was gone, and the rest of the tribe was coming to help them. She deliberately didn't think of those who had died, not now.
**It's all right, ShineBright. I think I deserve some shouting. I'm sorry too.**
As ShineBright left Stillwater tried to get up, her view hazy after the terrible mind attack.
"River..." she called out, and her wolf-friend answered with a pained whine. Thankfully Greeneye stopped calm River down, arriving together with Moonshadow and Solun.
"Are you all right?" she asked them both. "I was so foolish... I should have treed when I could. Then she wouldn't be hurt."
She leaned into Solun a little, happy that he stopped to check on her before joining the hunt for the monster. She couldn't really believe that she'd injured it with just water.
Did I really do that?
Shaking off her thoughts (bad idea, it hurt!) she managed to move over to her wolf, sending a **Thank you, good hunting** to Moonshadow as she left.
"Poor love, what did it do to you?"
River's face was torn up and she thought she could almost see the terrible poison in the wound. Trying to not use her bruised left arm she put the wolf's face in her lap.
Maybe I could...
Curiously, she stretched out her right hand and tried to call the water again. Nothing happened, except that her headache became much worse.
"Ow! So much for that idea, we're just going to have to wait for the healers, I'm afraid..."
(((OOC: Edited because I missed Moonshadow and Solun leaving.)))
It had happend faster then expected, before she could jump down and reach Stillwater, the Beast had been mortally wounded by her.
She wanted to go after it, making sure it would die!
